My name is
Farai Chandiwana
I am an accredited psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds who are experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties.
One of the greatest challenges we face is understanding our own minds and emotional experiences. This can feel particularly difficult when we are overwhelmed by anxiety, low mood, panic, shame or uncertainty.
I believe that developing a deeper understanding of ourselves is an important step towards meaningful and lasting positive change in our mental health.
My aim is to offer a warm, open and supportive space where we can explore what is going on for you, with compassion and curiosity.
We will take time to understand what has been happening in your life, how these experiences may have affected you, and what might be keeping you feeling stuck.
From there, we can begin to identify ways forward, helping you move towards the person you want to become.
I have specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT), allowing me to draw upon a broad range of clinical knowledge, evidence-based approaches and practical tools to support you. I have extensive experience working with depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), health anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias and generalised anxiety.
Together, we can make sense of the difficulties you are facing, explore how your past and present experiences may be influencing your wellbeing, and work towards meaningful changes that feel right for you. This is at the heart of Fara Practice.
